Synopsis:::
Khelaghar’ is a story of relationships. Malini and Anindya are a couple married for 14 years. They are childless but they love each other. Malini stays happy with her play-house and the toys in it. Anindya is a professor of literature and has female students swooning over him. Malini doesn’t like this. Whenever any female student starts getting too close to him she scares them away with some false story. She scares Apala by saying that she’ll be attacked by a spirit if she gets close to Anindya. She tells another student Aatreyei that Anindya is affected with HIV. When Anindya finds out that his wife doesn’t trust him he gets angry. Malini tries to win over his trust. A new female student Teesta comes to Anindya for tuition and Malini forces him to give her tuitions. Anindya tries to maintain a distance with Teesta but gradually they come close. Once when Malini goes to take care of her sick mother, Teesta and Anindya get physically intimate in her absence. This incident shatters Malini. She leaves home and commits suicide. Teesta is also shattered and loses her sanity. Anindya discovers a diary written by Malini where she had written that she had challenged Teesta that she couldn’t prove her husband characterless. She had complete faith in him. But Teesta had managed to break that trust and it ruined three lives.
